The Prophet and Children

Prophet Muhammad, may God send His praises upon him, was an extraordinary husband, a perfect father, and a unique grandfather.  He was unique in every way.  He treated his children and grandchildren with great compassion and never neglected to direct them to the straight path and to good deeds.  He loved them and treated them tenderly, but did not allow them to neglect matters related to the afterlife.  He showed them how to lead a humane life and never allowed them to neglect their religious duties or to become spoiled.

His ultimate goal was to prepare them for the Hereafter.  His perfect balance in such matters is another dimension of his divinely-inspired intellect.  Anas Ibn Malik, the Messenger’s helper for 10 years, says:

“I have never seen a man who was more compassionate to his family members than Muhammad.”[1]

Muhammad was a human like us, but God inspired in him such an intimate affection for every living thing that he could establish a connection with all of them.  As a result, he was full of extraordinary affection toward his family members and others.

All of the Prophet’s sons died.  Ibrahim, his last son, died in infancy.  The Prophet often visited his son before the latter’s death, although he was very busy.  Ibrahim was looked after by a nurse.  The Prophet would kiss and play with him before returning home.[2]

When Ibrahim took his last breaths, the eyes of the Prophet started shedding tears.  Abdur-Rahman Ibn Awf said:

“O God’s Messenger, even you (weep)!”  The Prophet said, “O Ibn Auf, this is mercy.”

Then he wept more and said:

“The eyes shed tears and the heart grieves, and we will not say except what pleases our Lord, O Ibrahim!  Indeed we are grieved by your separation.”

The Messenger was completely balanced in the way he brought up his children.  He loved his children and grandchildren very much, and instilled love in them.  However, he never let his love for them be abused.  None of them deliberately dared to do anything wrong.  If they made an unintentional mistake, the Messenger’s protection prevented them from going even slightly astray.  He did this by wrapping them in love and an aura of dignity.  For example, once Hasan or Hussain wanted to eat a date meant for distribution among the poor as alms.  The Messenger immediately took it from his hand, and said:

“Anything given as alms is forbidden to us.”[3]

In teaching them while they were young to be sensitive to forbidden acts, the Prophet, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, established an important principle of education.

Whenever he returned to Medina, he would carry children on his mount.  On such occasions, the Messenger embraced not only his grandchildren but also those in his house and those nearby.  He conquered their hearts through his compassion.  He loved all children.

He loved his granddaughter Umamah.  He often went out with her on his shoulders, and even placed her on his shoulders while praying.  When he prostrated, he put her down; when he had finished praying, he placed her on his back again.[4]

The Prophet showed this degree of love to Umamah to teach his male followers how to treat girls.  This was a vital necessity; only a decade earlier, it had been the social norm to bury infant or young girls alive.  Such public paternal affection for a granddaughter had never been seen before in Arabia.

The Messenger proclaimed that Islam allows no discrimination between son and daughter.  How could there be?  One is Muhammad, the other is Khadijah; one is Adam, the other is Eve; one is Ali, the other is Fatima.  For every great man there is a great woman.

As soon as Fatimah, the daughter of the Messenger, entered the room where the Messenger was, he would stand, take her hands, and make her sit where he was sitting.  He would ask about her health and family, show his paternal love for her and compliment her.

Fatimah, knowing how fond he was of her, loved him more than her own self.  She always watched her father and how he called people to Islam.  She wept profusely when the Messenger told her that he would die soon, but her tears of sorrow turned to tears of joy when he informed her that she would be the first of his family to follow him.[5]

This is the Prophet and his relation to children, A man respected by leaders, cherished and loved by children.

This Is Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

Deriding the word of God and his Messenger, became an ordinary matter these days!...

Most of these misconception came from abroad, the Unbelievers claim that Islam is the religion backwardness, terrorism and unenlightenment. Enemies of Islam persisted on mocking Islamic teachings alleging that they are old and can't fit the modern era !.

Now if anyone browses the internet sites attentively, can easily find plenty of comments and drawings that express unbelievers' spite and bitter feeling against Islam.

You may see them spread it out under name of " freedom of opinion".. …..that unrestraint license freedom!. Among them, a cartoonist in Denmark (1) who made cartoons mocking prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Praise to Allah ! how dare they, mocking Muhammad (peace be upon him), the greatest creature of Allah?. But, as seen, they do not have any logic sense or even scientific proof they can criticize Islam with. They avoided scientific rules (learned by Moslems in middle centuries) this time!

So they rushed with that miserable manner, because they failed to find any linguistic fault or scientific mistake regarding the holly Quran, along with Hadith of the greatest messenger that they can convince their followers with. They found nothing but these drawings that disclose their insolvency.

We have the right to express our opinion about such things, but we do respect Moses and Jesus, peace be upon them, understanding that they do not bear any of their followers acts, for that we do not divide between these generous prophets, understanding that all messengers are sent by Allah.

But let's first read what Allah says about these mockers, God says in the Holy Quran:

(Lo! those who malign Allah and his messenger, Allah hath cursed them in the world and the Hereafter, and hath prepared for them the doom of the disdained* and those who malign believing men and believing women undeservedly, they bear the guilt of slander and manifest sin.) {Al-Ahzab: 57-58 }.

These drawings are bad deeds to Allah, mockery of his messenger causes harm for every believing man and woman. So, we warn them of a painful punishment if they do not desist.

Our way of expressing will be stronger than their way and abide for long run, because these drawings show only delusions and illusion that nowhere else to be find but in their minds. We'll speak to them on scientific basics that they failed to use!. We'll tell them the reality of that merciful prophet (peace be upon him).

I'll not speak about the high morals and the wonderful characteristics he had, Because such mockers characters are void of these characteristics and as a result they are not apt to appreciate them.

Our speech will be scientific and based on material facts announced by that noble prophet. These facts are represented in the Quran, fourteen centuries ago and they are still valid and even will extend in the future as the most solid facts.

In fact, they are belong to countries which believe in justice, human rights and have modern technology as well. I dare to say to those who are proud of science and justice that the Holy Quran which you mockery with, is the first book claim for science and justice!!.

And those are main support for success and prosperity of any civilization.

The first word to come down to Mohammad was (اقرأ Iqra') which means: read, and this is a proof that Islam is a religion of science.

The last word of Quran that came down is: (and they shall not be dealt with unjustly.), and this is a proof that Islam is a religion of justice.

You claim that you are the first who call to search for universe history and you are proud of that. But we ask you to read this verse in Qur'an,which is a straight and direct calling for thinking about the beginning of creation.: (Say: Travel in the earth and see how He makes the first creation, then Allah creates the latter creation; surely Allah has power over all things.) Al-'Ankaboot (20)

This is evidence that Qur'an is mainly concerned with looking,thinking,searching​ and studying.

Our prophet (peace be upon him), launched a new scientific rule for astronomy and cosmic phenomena. When people of Macca thought that the Sun had eclipsed for his son's death (Ibraheem), Prophet Mohammad refused that meaning saying: (The sun and the moon are two signs(creation miracle) among many others from Allah, and they did not eclipse for any one's death or birth.) [Al-Bokhari].

Our Prophet (peace be upon him) claimed these wise words in the time you were believing that solar eclipse is a sign of the birth of a great man, the death of a great man, the end of a tyrant or loosing a battle.

In the same time, Europe was plagued with a plenty of magicians, astrologers and jugglers who accustomed to be believed by people, even by kings......

Our prophet (peace be upon him) denied and forbade these deeds saying: (who ever came to a juggler or diviner and believe what he is saying, he will be unbeliever concerning what been given to Mohammad.)

In the same time, you were thinking that the earth is firm and do not move.......

Qur'an placed a scientific fact confirming that everything in this universe is swimming according to a specific orbit.

This fact you discovered after that,lately!

Allah say about the Sun and the Moon: [ They swim(float) each in an orbit]..(Ya-Seen 40)

In the time when Europe believed in a god for wind, a god for rain and a god for thunder........

Qur'an made scientific basics for all these phenomena, which you have discovered only few years ago.

If you want to know facts about winds, then read what Allah says: (And We send the winds fertilizing, then send down water from the cloud so We give it to you to drink of, nor is it you who store it up.)(Al-Hijr 22)

Don't you discover recently with your modern instruments and equipments the act of the wind to fertilize clouds and rain falling by return?

If you want to know the technique of thunder, which remained unknown to you for a long time ,only was discovered few years ago....

You may read our prophet Hadith: (Don't you wonder about the thunder how it goes and returns in a twinkle of an eye ?).(Moslem collection of Hadith). your digital cameras shoot photos for thunder go to and fro exactly as described by the prophet's words ?

Our prophet (peace be upon him) was the first man in the history to call for medical research through many Hadith laying the basics of modern medicine principals.

Our prophet (peace be upon him) said:(Allah place not a disease but He places a cure for it) ( Bokhari Encyclopedia

That great Hdith assures that there is a cure for different kinds of diseases. That means that if human searches for the cure he will find it.

Don't your scientists apply this Hadith,so they do research to find cure for different diseases which in the past they stand hopeless against.?

Islam is the first to talk about cosmic weave, Allah say: (I swear by the heaven having weaves) (Al-Zariyat 7)

don't you see, through your super computers, that cosmic perfected weave?

You are so proud today considering yourselves the first to discover the beginning of universe,you assure that the universe was a single mass then scattered due to a big bang.

You forget that our prophet (peace be upon him) preceded you since 14 centuries when Allah say:(Do not those who disbelieve see that the heavens and the earth were closed up, then We have parted them;).. (Al-Anbiya' 30)

If we wish, we can identify hundreds,even thousands of modern recently discovered scientific facts, they all exist in Qur'an and Hadith of the master of the prophets (peace be upon him).

Shall you read some of it before you delineate our prophet characteristics , That prophet,who Allah described him as His mercy given to the whole universe.

Hereby, we ask that who can't hear not to criticize beautiful sounds.., and that who can't see not to attack wonderful scenes.., also that who catch cold, not to make objection for perfumed smell.

Whatever the suspicions they try to attach to his character, whatever the false calumniation they utter, The character of our prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) will stay shining, beautiful and splendid.Our prophet (peace be upon him) sayings will remain the most reasonable and scientific.

Also a guidance light of Allah and Qur'an will stay brilliant whatever the unbelievers try to get it off with their fallacies.

Allah say: (He is who hath sent his messenger with the guidance and the Religion of Truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religion, however much the idolaters may be averse.) (At-Taubah 33)

Allah say: (Lo! those who malgin Allah and His messenger, Allah hath cursed them in the world and the Hereafter, and hath prepared for them the doom of the disdained.) (Al-Ahzab 57).

Allah say: (We say as Allah Say: (Say: Scoff (your fill)! Lo! Allah is disclosing what ye fear.) (Al-Taubah 64)

Man & Prophet

Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was an illiterate but wise and well-respected man who was born in Makkah in the year 570 C.E., at a time when Christianity was not yet fully established in Europe. His first years were marked by the deaths of his parents. Since his father died before his birth, his uncle, Abu Talib, from the respected tribe of Quraysh, raised him. As Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) grew up, he became known for his truthfulness, generosity and sincerity, so that he was sought after for his ability to arbitrate in disputes. His reputation and personal qualities also led to his marriage, at the age of twenty-five, to Khadijah, a widow whom he had assisted in business. Thenceforth, he became an important and trusted citizen of Makkah. Historians describe him as calm and meditative.

 Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) never felt fully content to be part of a society whose values he considered to be devoid of true religious significance. It became his habit to retreat from time to time to the cave of Hira', to meditate near the summit of Jabal al-Nur, the "Mountain of Light", near Makkah.

 At the age of 40, while engaged in one such meditative retreat, Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) received his first revelation from God through the Angel Gabriel. This revelation, which continued for twenty-three years, is known as the Qur'an, the faithful recording of the entire revelation of God. The first revelation read:

"Recite: In the name of your Lord Who created man from a clot (of blood). Recite: Your Lord is Most Noble, Who taught by the pen, taught man what he did not know."
[Holy Quran 96:1-5]

 It was this reality that he gradually and steadily came to learn and believe, until he fully realized that it is the truth.

 His first convert was Khadijah, whose support and companionship provided necessary reassurance and strength. He also won the support of some of his relatives and friends. Three basic themes of the early message were the majesty of the one, unique God, the futility of idol worship, the threat of judgment, and the necessity of faith, compassion and morality in human affairs. All these themes represented an attack on the crass materialism and idolatry prevalent in Makkah at the time. So when he began to proclaim the message to others the Makkans rejected him. He and his small group of followers suffered bitter persecution, which grew so fierce that in the year 622 C.E., God gave them the command to emigrate. This event, the Hijrah (migration), in which they left Makkah for the city of Madinah, some 260 miles to the north, marked the beginning of a new era and thus the beginning of the Muslim calendar. During his suffering, Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) drew comfort from the knowledge revealed to him about other prophets, such as Abraham, Joseph, and Moses, each of whom had also been persecuted and tested.

After several years and some significant battles, the Prophet and his followers were able to return to Makkah, where they forgave their enemies and established Islam definitively. By the time the Prophet died, at the age of 63, the greater part of Arabia had accepted Islam, and within a century of his death, Islam had spread as far west as Spain and as far east as China. It was clear that the message was not limited to Arabs; it was for the whole of humanity.

Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) - A Brief Description

You may be a Christian Protestant, Catholic, Jew, an atheist or an agnostic; or you may belong to any of many different religious denominations existing in today's world. You might even be a communist or believe in man's democracy as the rule on earth.
Whoever you are and whatever ideological or political beliefs, social habits you may hold, there is no doubt -

You Must Know This MAN - MUHAMMAD (peace and blessings be upon him).

He was by far the most remarkable man that ever set foot on this earth. He preached a religion, founded a state, built a nation, laid down a moral code, initiated numerous social and political reforms, established a powerful and dynamic society to practice and represent his teachings and completely revolutionized the worlds of human thought and behavior for all times to come.

"HIS NAME IS MUHAMMAD" May Peace of God Be Upon Him (peace and blessings be upon him)

He was born in Arabia in the year 570 C.E. (Common Era), started his mission of preaching the religion of Truth, Islam (submission to One God at the age of forty and departed from this world at the age of sixty-three.

During this short period of 23 years of his prophethood, he changed the complete Arabian Peninsula from paganism and idolatry to worship of One God, from tribal quarrels and wars to national solidarity and cohesion, from drunkenness and debauchery to sobriety and piety, from lawlessness and anarchy to disciplined living, from utter bankruptcy to the highest standards of moral excellence. Human history has never known such a complete transformation of a people or a place before or since - and IMAGINE all these unbelievable wonders in JUST OVER TWO DECADES.

The world has had its share of great personalities. But these were one sided figures who distinguished themselves in but one or two field, such as religious thought or military leadership. The lives and teachings of these great personalities of the world are shrouded in the mist of time. There is so much speculation about the time and place their birth, the mode and style of their life, the nature and detail of their teachings and the degree and measure of their success or failure that is impossible for humanity to reconstruct accurately the lives and teachings of these men.

Not so this man. Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) accomplished so much in such diverse fields of human thought and behavior in the fullest blaze of human history. Every detail of his private life and public utterances has been accurately documented and faithfully preserved to our day. The authenticity of the records so preserved are vouched for not only by the faithful followers but even by his prejudiced critics.

Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was a religious teacher, a social reformer, a moral guide, an administrative colossus, a faithful friend, a wonderful companion, a devoted husband, a loving father - all in one. No other man in history ever excelled or equaled him in any of these different aspects of life - but it was only for the selfless personality of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) to achieve such incredible perfection.

Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was nothing more or less than a human being. but he was a man with a noble mission, which was to unite humanity on the worship of ONE and ONLY ONE GOD and to teach them the way to honest and upright living based on the commands of God. He always described himself as, 'A Servant and Messenger of God' and so indeed every action of his proclaimed to be.

Today after a lapse of fourteen centuries, the life and teachings of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) have survived without the slightest loss, alteration or interpolation. They offer the same undying hope for treating mankind's many ills, which they did when he was alive. This is not a claim of Mohammed's (peace and blessings be upon him) followers, but the inescapable conclusion forced upon by a critical and unbiased history.

The least YOU can do as a thinking and concerned human being is to stop for a moment and ask your self: Could these statements sounding so extraordinary and revolutionary really be true? And supposing they really are true and you did not know this man MUHAMMAD (peace and blessings be upon him) or hear about him, isn't it time you responded to this tremendous challenge and put in some effort to know him?

 It will cost you nothing, but it may prove to be the beginning of a completely new era in your life.

We invite you to make a discovery of this wonderful man, MUHAMMAD (peace and blessings be upon him), the like of whom never walked on the face of this earth.

The Sunnah

Following the Sunnah (example) of the Prophet (peace be upon him) is a fundamental part of Islam.. Allah orders us in numerous places in the Qu'ran to obey Him and to obey the messenger. Alhumdulillah, the record of the Prophet's (sunnah) have been kept until the present day. It is to our own detriment, if we fail to study both the Qu'ran and the Sunnah.

To be a true Muslim, the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) must be followed. The sources of information about the Sunnah are found in Hadith (sayings and actions of the Prophet as well as things that he silently consented to). There are many authentic books of hadith from which these references are derived as well as scholars of hadith, who spend years of memorizing, studying and understanding the science of hadith.

When a Muslim knows the Qu'ran and seeks to obey the orders of Allah (ta'ala), it naturally follows that he/she will obey the Prophet (peace be upon him) as this is ordered by Allah in Qu'ran.

{And obey Allah and the Messenger (Muhammad ) that you may obtain mercy}(3:132)

Islam is a way of life. Not just a set of orders, restrictions etc, but a spiritual, practical and natural development of the human being and society into a well organized, just and pious state of being. Muslims are those who, by following the Prophet (peace be upon him), who was said to be the 'Qu'ran in action', develop characteristics that are esteemed by all. It is upon the base of such characters, that a truly Islamic society emerges.

The Muslim who follows the Sunnah, learns how to combine strength with gentleness, modesty with courage, patience with fortitude and spirituality with practicality. The Muslim who follows the sunnah of Muhammad (peace be upon him) is kind, gentle and generous to the family, hospitable to the guest, brave in battle and forgiving in victory. The Muslim who follows the Sunnah is modest in dress and manners, wealth is marked by humility and generosity, poverty is accompanied by patience, hope and effort, malice and revenge have no place in the heart and the constant love and fear of Allah (ta'ala) reigns supreme in both heart and mind, and is the pivot point of action in their lives.

May Allah (ta'ala) fortify our Iman and give us knowledge that is beneficial to us. May He, Who is the Most Merciful, let us appreciate the light of Islam, amidst the degeneration of mankind, and establish us on the way of the Sunnah.

Prophet Muhammad's Last Sermon

This Sermon was delivered on the Ninth Day of Dhul Hijjah 10 A.H in the Uranah Valley of mount Arafat
"O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I don't know whether, after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you carefully and take these words to those who could not be present here today.
O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your Lord, and that He will indeed reckon your deeds. Allah has forbidden you to take usury (Interest), therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived...
Beware of Satan, for your safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.
O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have right over you. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and comitted helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with any one of whom you do not approve, as well as never to commit adultery.
O People, listen to me in earnest, whorship Allah, say your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadhan, and give your wealth in Zakat. Perform Hajj if you can afford to. You know that every Muslim is the brother of another Muslim. You are all equal. Nobody has superiority over other except by piety and good action.
Remember, one day you will appear before Allah and answer for your deeds. So beware, do not astray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.
O People, no prophet or apostle will come after me and no new faith will be born. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand my words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the Qur'an and my example, the Sunnah and if you follow these you will never go astray.
All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me direcly. Be my witness oh Allah that I have conveyed your message to your people."

Who was Muhammad(peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)

In brief, Muhammad (peace and blessings of God be upon him) was born in a noble tribe of Mecca in Arabia in the year 570 CE (Christian Era). His ancestry goes back to Prophet Ishmael (peace be upon him), son of Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him). His father died before his birth and his mother died when he was six years old. He did not attend any formal school. He was raised first by a nursemaid in the desert, as it was the customary in those days, then by his grandfather and then by his uncle. As a young man, he was known as a righteous person who used to meditate in a cave. At age 40, he was bestowed with prophet-hood by God through an angel, Gabriel, who appeared to Him in the cave of Hiraa’, in Mecca. Subsequently, revelations were received by Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of God be upon him) for a period of 23 years. This book of revelations is called the Qur’aan.

The Qur’aan has been preserved, unchanged, in its original form and language, and confirms the truth in the Torah, the psalms and the Gospel, prior to their corruption as in their present forms today. The Qur’aan is the only scripture in existence today in its original text. All the earlier divine scriptures were entrusted by God to His messengers to guard them, and after the physical death of the Messengers, their followers were entrusted to guard them. However, the followers failed in their duties; therefore each subsequent divine scripture corrected the previous one. God has confirmed in the Holy Qur’aan that not only is it His last and final revelation to mankind, and but also that He Himself will guard and preserve it until the Day of Judgment

PROPHETHOOD

Prophethood is not unknown to heavenly-revealed religions, such as Judaism and Christianity. In Islam, however, it has a special status and significance.

According to Islam, Allah (Arabic word for God) created man for a noble purpose: to worship Him and lead a virtuous life based on His teachings and guidance. How would man know his role and purpose of his existence unless he received clear and practical instructions of what Allah wants him to do? Hence the need for prophethood and accompanying guidance. Thus Allah had chosen from every nation one or more prophets to convey His message to the people. The Noble Qur'an says:
"To every people (was sent) an Apostle: when their Apostle comes (before them) the matter will be judged between them with justice and they will not be wronged." (Qur'an, 10:47)

Allah says in the Noble Qur'an: "And verily We have sent among every nation a messenger (proclaiming):
'Worship Allah (alone) and avoid evil.' Then of them were some whom Allah guided, and there were some upon whom straying was justified. So travel through the land and see what was the consequence of those who denied (the truth)." (Qur'an, 16:36)

In Islam, Prophets are considered to be men chosen by God to lead their people back to His Straight Path. These men are upright in nature and the most perfect of human beings. From birth through their prophethood, and until their death, Prophets of Almighty God are faultless.

According to the Bible: Prophet Solomon (peace be upon him) worshiped false gods (I Kings 11:9-10); Prophet David (peace be upon him) sent for Uriah's wife, Bathsheba, and committed adultery with her (II Samuel 11:3-5); Prophet Judah (peace be upon him) committed incest with his daughter-in-law, Tamar (Genesis 38:15-18); and Prophet Lot (peace be upon him) committed incest with his two daughters while drunken with wine (Genesis 19:32-36).

This is unacceptable in Islam. Unlike the Bible's portrayal of the Messengers of God, the Qur'an upholds that they were pious, upright men in their respective societies who inclined to the worship of their Creator and opposed the worship of created things, even before they were given their Prophethood.
